Automation is obvious in the metal industry. Robots are perfect for improving the working environment by handling heavy items.
Robots will also optimise the production by increasing the work pace, working without breaks and operating other machinery with high precision and uniform results.
BILA RoboPower is a standardised and mobile robot cell for machine operation. The robot cell is extremely flexible and is ideal for both small and large batch runs.
The combination of manual programming and subprograms, allows the cell to be quickly reset for new items (5–10 mins). This makes it possible for the operator to create new programs and run-in new items themselves.
BILA RoboPower does not compromise on safety. There is a pressure switch to monitor air supply pressure, which ensures that no items are dropped due to a fall in pressure. The grips are installed with reed switches so that items are gripped correctly. The robot is also fitted with standard light curtains.
BILA RoboPower is a compact mobile cell that can be moved quickly and easily using pallet lifters or fork-lifts. RoboPower can be moved between several CNC machines and be ready for production in around 20–30 mins.
The main frame/stand of RoboPower is heavy enough to make it stable without being bolted to the floor. If the cell needs to be moved frequently, two zero point plates are used, which are attached to the floor.
At BILA, all RoboPower models are stock items, which ensures day-to-day deliveries.
Investment in a BILA RoboPower allows the CNC machines to be used for more hours per day with no additional employees. We have seen machines pay for themselves in as little as six months.
BILA can offer a leasing agreement, which provides the following benefits: No capital tie-up, no down payment, options for cancellation and subsequent purchase.
At O. Jacobsens Maskinfabrik the employees had to lift the slabs several times a day from a pallet to the machine and from the machine to the measuring and washing areas and then on to distribution and preparation.
At Hosta Industries, production of large orders for a whole range of slabs was handled manually. Repetitive one-sided work was part and parcel of the production process. The company therfore wanted to streamline the process and eliminate monotonous physical work for the staff.
KAMF is a machine factory where they use a combination of automation and robot solutions, as well as Lean and 5S practices. After KAMF’s first robot investment in a CNC assistant, the firm had so much work on their books that they already felt the need for yet another one.
